Your Personal Testimony

SHARING YOUR STORY

One of the most effective methods of witnessing is to share "YOUR STORY"

Every young person has a story to tell.

If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, your testimony is "I am a lost sinner and the wages of sin is death.  Death as a non believer is eternal separation from God and living in eternal suffering from the fires of Hell with "Satan the Prince of the World".  If I were to die today, I would be condemned to eternal separation from God and will be facing a life forever in the "Fires of Hell"

If you know the Lord Jesus Christs as their personal Savior, your personal testimony has three parts to it.

1.  My life before Christ.

Growing up – give a brief summary or your early history.  This should not be very detailed.  Give just enough information for someone to know something of your home life and family while growing up.

How and when you came to realize that you were a sinner and that the wages of sin was death or eternal separation from God?  What scriptures were used to help you realize this?

2.  My life with Christ.

How did you come to accept Christ as your Savior?

What scriptures led you to accept Him?

How did you come to know without doubt that you had Christ in your life and what scripture did you use to get that assurance?

3.  My life after Christ .

Give a brief description of your life after you received Christ in your life.

How do you walk with Him day by day and what impact does He have in your life today?

What scriptures do you depend on each day?

2.  Steps to Salvation using Romans

All men are sinners                                                                  Romans 3:23

Sin brings death                                                                       Romans 6:23a

God loves sinners and provides salvation to them               Romans 6:23b

Salvations is a gift and  must be accepted                          Romans 10:9-10 & 13

You should have a one minute testimony that can be shared quickly.

You should have a three minute testimony  that can be shared on the spur of the moment that includes scripture that led you to realize that you were a sinner and needed forgiveness of your sins.  How Jesus died on the cross and paid the price for your sins.  How you asked Him for forgiveness and to become your personal Savior.  How you know without doubt that you are saved and have eternal life with God in Heaven.

You should have a more detailed testimony that you can give when called on to give your testimony in public.  This should be about five minutes in length and should include specific details and scriptures that anyone could use to be saved.

Practice giving your testimony until you are comfortable giving each of the three when the opportunity arises.
