Church Recreation Leadership Training and Resource Center of Ideas "Meet with the Pastor and Coordinate Your Activities"

Meet with Pastor

One of the most important things that you can do is schedule a meeting with the Pastor to discuss your goals for the coming year and review your activities calendar with him.

Go over your mission statement, the list of goals and the reason why you set each individual goal.

Ask for his input on things that he would like to see accomplished in the lives of the children, youth, adults and senior adults that participate in your activities ministry during the coming year.  Ask if there are any areas of ministry that he would like for you to become involved.

Meet with Church Staff

After meeting with the Pastor, schedule a meeting with all other Ministers and department heads to go over your schedule of activities and get their input and suggestions.

Make sure there are no conflicts or no other schedules that should be included.

Now you are ready to begin planning your Youth Activities and Enlisting Volunteers to Help.   Using volunteers and committees effectively will enhance your ministry and make it much more effective.  Most ministers never really master the art of using volunteers.  Study this subject and become very efficient in using committees and volunteers and I promise you it make your ministry more effective and rewarding.
