Mission Statement and Goal List
Develop a Mission Statement and a list of goals that define the changes that you want to see in the lives of your youth.
Schedule a time to get away from all distractions and determine why you are involved in leading young people.
Write out a mission statement. A mission statement simply states the reasons to be involved in a youth ministry and the objectives you want to accomplish. Make the statement clear and concise.
How do I begin?
Take a blank sheet of paper and begin listing every thought that comes into your mind on WHY you want to work with young people. Do not consider what, when, where or how. Just consider WHY! Throw caution to the wind and list every thought no matter how silly
or trivial it may seem. You are looking into your heart and asking yourself “Why am I doing this”. Until you know WHY you do not need to know WHAT. When you know WHY you will need to know WHAT.
